Have you every heard the saying that food is a love language?  This in-home session by Vicki Grafton on a quiet Sunday afternoon, express just that.  Celebrating their four year anniversary in solitude from the world, Vicki’s clients opted for quality time spent bonding over their common passion for cooking.  Without a distraction from the outside world, Vicki takes us behind the scenes of her time documenting the beauty of an intimate anniversary session.

From Vicki Grafton

Cooking is one of the best ways to spend quality time with your significant other. From the time Katherine and Ryley first met, they had a bond over their love for good food and each other’s company, and this session set out to capture authentic everyday moments between them.

On a Sunday morning during a staycation in nearby Charlottesville, we wanted to showcase their lighthearted relationship and celebrate their 4 years together. Katherine studied as a pastry chef, and spends her free time baking and trying new recipes, with Ryley as her trusted taste tester. He’s also always ready to lend a hand to create their next favorite pastry, so we wanted to included that element of their relationship and capture them making kanelsnurrer, a twisted Norwegian cinnamon bun, for the first time.
The need for love and intimacy is a fundamental human need, as primal as the need for food, water, and air. – Dean Ornish
