Midwest Bridal Inspiration

Every entry that goes into this online wedding journal is written with words from my heart.  I consider myself tremendously blessed for the photographers who choose our publication to submit their work to.  One of these photographers being Michelle Leach of Magnolia Adams.  Not only is Michelle an absolute joy to work with on features, her work speaks leaps and bounds about her personality; graceful, passionate, and encouraging at the least.

When Michelle sent this bridal inspiration shoot that she collaborated on, I knew right away that Dear Gray Magazine was a perfect platform to share it.  Between Michelle’s great understanding of film photography and the bridal design flowing across the grounds of Aristide Event Center, this bridal inspirational shoot needed the attention it so greatly deserved.  Details included silk by Silk and Willow, an invitation suite by calligrapher Rachel Kathryn Designs, and a cake design like no other, created by Brown Egg Bakery.  Michelle was consistent with capturong this “bride” within complimentary angles while also highlighting each detail that was contributed by her team.

From Michelle:

Here in the Midwest, it is a constant challenge to stay inspired through the Winter months. You know Spring is coming, but often the dead grass and naked trees can dampen your spirits. At the hint of spring, a few vendors and I jumped at the chance to show off the beautiful Aristide Event Center and created a spring bridal look.

As a photographer during a normal wedding day, I seek to not only document the day, but capture it artfully. Inspiration shoots are a great way to stay fresh creatively and to practice that capturing a bride in a more unique way.

From floral design, Everything Beautiful OKC:

I wanted to replicate something that depicted the changing of the season. I love spring. Always have. Dead things come to life and vibrant colors begin to creep through the dark. We had the perfect location to create something romantic yet whimsy. The ranunculus and anemones gave the bouquet a fresh texture and the quicksand roses gave it a foundation. Tied it together with some jasmine and Silk and Willow ribbon. Perfect bouquet.

Meet Michelle Leach

My name is Michelle, but my photography business is Magnolia Adam’s Photography. I named my business after my babies, Magnolia and Adam. I married the most amazing man on the 4th of July. I never pictured myself getting in to photography, but after going through the most painful season of my life, Jesus turned photography into a beautiful redemptive blessing.

The best part about my job is the people I meet. Hands down, I love the stories I get to tell. Whether it’s a senior heading off to the adventure of a lifetime, or a bride breathless about to meet her groom. There’s a story there, and I love to tell it. The best compliment a client can give me is when they say the moment was captured exactly how they remember it.
